I come out to look at every job and give the estimate, then I work on site with our crew, who handle the forming, pouring and finishing. Nobody has to pass the plan along, so what we talked about in your driveway is what goes into the forms.
The base gets the budget before the finish does
The subgrade, the ground your slab sits on, is hidden on day one, so it's the first thing people want to trim. I'd rather trim a fancier finish, because a slab on raked dirt settles right along with it. We dig out and pack the base and check where the water will run before the truck arrives, so pour day goes calmly and we leave your property clean.
A straight answer about cracks
Small cracks are part of how concrete behaves, so we cut control joints, grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack where it shows least.
